Professor Duo Liu, Chief Pharmacist and Doctoral Supervisor at Harbin Medical University Cancer Hospital, is a distinguished pharmaceutical scientist whose research has significantly advanced the fields of pharmacogenomics, pharmacoepidemiology, and precision oncology. With a strong background in medical genetics and pharmacology, Professor Liu has developed a research portfolio that bridges molecular pharmacology with clinical translation, focusing on the genetic mechanisms underlying cancer susceptibility, therapeutic response, and drug resistance. Dr. Christianah Ibironke Odita is a distinguished Chief Veterinary Research Officer and Head of the Division of Veterinary Public Health and Preventive Medicine at the National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI), Vom, Nigeria. She holds a Ph.D. in Veterinary Science from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, an M.Sc. in Veterinary Epidemiology and Public Health from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London, and a Master of Veterinary Public Health (MVPH) as well as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Her research focuses on the epidemiology and control of infectious and zoonotic diseases, particularly at the human–animal interface, with specialization in disease surveillance, risk modeling, outbreak investigation, and preventive medicine. Dr. Odita has authored and co-authored several impactful publications in reputed journals, including Vaccine, One Health Outlook, Nigerian Veterinary Journal, and Open Veterinary Journal. Her scholarly contributions span critical studies on rabies, avian influenza, anthrax, and antimicrobial resistance in poultry, emphasizing evidence-based strategies for public health policy and disease prevention. She is a Commonwealth Scholar and a recipient of the Epix Analytics One Risk Course Awards for excellence in report writing and presentation, as well as the NVRI Research Grant Award. Dr. Odita continues to contribute to advancing veterinary epidemiology and public health through research, mentorship, and active engagement in collaborative One Health initiatives across Africa. Dr. Aneta Katarzyna Pluta, PhD, serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Omics Analyses at the National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI), Puławy, Poland, where she has been employed since 2010. She earned her PhD in Veterinary Sciences from NVRI in 2022, following her MSc in Microbiology and a Postgraduate Specialization in Medical Analytics from the Medical University of Lublin. Additionally, she completed a specialization in the Psychology of Social Communication at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. Dr. Pluta’s research focuses on veterinary virology and molecular biology, particularly the genomics, pathogenesis, and diagnostics of Bovine Leukemia Virus (BLV). Her work encompasses qPCR harmonization, next-generation sequencing (NGS/RNA-seq), and viral gene regulation, contributing to international collaborative studies and the WOAH (OIE) Enzootic Bovine Leukosis Reference Laboratory. She has authored numerous impactful papers in journals such as Scientific Reports, Pathogens, Retrovirology, and Viruses, advancing understanding of BLV molecular variability and host–virus interactions. As Principal Investigator of an NCN PRELUDIUM grant, she explored the effects of BLV genomic mutations on viral replication. Her scholarly excellence has earned her multiple distinctions, including the Polish Society of Veterinary Science Main Award, NVRI Scientific Council Honorable Mention, and presentation awards from DIAGMOL and All Things BLV. Dr. Pluta also contributes to the global scientific community as a peer reviewer for several international journals and as the initiator of the Breast Cancer–BLV Research Network, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration in veterinary and medical virology.
