Dr. Longzhan Gan is a Lecturer, Specially-appointed Professor, and Master’s Supervisor at the College of Life Sciences, Guizhou University, where he also serves as a Young Member of the Professional Committee of Microbiome of the Guizhou Provincial Society for Microbiology. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering in Biological Engineering (2013–2017) and Doctor of Engineering in Fermentation Engineering (2017–2022) from Sichuan University. His research focuses on extremophiles and microbial systematics, the exploration and development of novel exopolysaccharides, and lignin biodegradation with bacterial valorization for sustainable bioproducts. Dr. Gan has published extensively in high-impact journals such as Microbiology Spectrum, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, Food Chemistry, Archives of Microbiology, and Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, with notable contributions including the discovery of novel halophilic bacterial species, structural characterization of exopolysaccharides, and development of biopolymer-based food packaging materials.
