Dr. Çağlar Akçalı is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Mardin Artuklu University, Türkiye, where she actively contributes to teaching, research, and community health initiatives. She earned her PhD in Nutrition and Dietetics from Ankara University, building on a strong academic foundation in nutritional sciences and public health. Dr. Akçalı’s primary research interests encompass sustainable nutrition and food systems, community nutrition, food literacy, and gastrointestinal health, with a focus on promoting evidence-based dietary practices for public well-being. Her scholarly output includes several peer-reviewed journal articles, such as her recent publication in Scientific Reports on inulin’s effects in constipation-predominant IBS, and numerous book chapters on topics ranging from vegetarian nutrition to sports nutrition among adolescents. She has also served as the editor of the scientific book Nutrition and Health: Principles and Perspectives (BIDGE Publications, 2024), demonstrating her leadership in academic publishing. Her research projects have received national and international recognition, including funding from the European Union (HORIZON-MSCA, Erasmus+) and TÜBİTAK, and align closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals related to health, education, and sustainable consumption. Dr. Akçalı has been honored for her contributions to nutrition education, public health promotion, and sustainable food systems, reflecting her commitment to advancing health equity and scientific innovation. Through her multidisciplinary work, she continues to bridge academic research with practical interventions that support healthier and more sustainable communities.
